[glow=red,2,300]Overhaul for GTA website[/glow]
The website for the GTA, www.greyhoundtrainersassociation.co.uk has been significantly updated with a range of new information.
John Haynes, chairman of the association said: “With more and more trainers now using the internet it is only right that their representative body has an informative and up-to-date website. I am sure it will become a popular and valuable source of information.
“For example, trainers can download application forms for all the grants available from the Trainers Assistance Form from the site and get guidance on the new government transport regulations.
“Also included is some information on how trainers might use the small claims court to recover debts owed to them.
“The intention is to keep the site regularly updated and I would welcome any feedback or ideas for new content.”

[shadow=green,left,300]GTA candidates[/shadow]
THE Greyhound Trainers' Association have confirmed that Brian Clemenson, Carol Grasso and Norah McEllistrim will contest the forthcoming election for a chairman in succession to the ousted Jim Reynolds.
The announcement of candidates, which had been expected earlier this week, had to be delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, but acting GTA chairman Tony Meek confirmed that the trio would stand.
“I've spoken to all three and they are all happy to allow their names to go on to the ballot sheet,” said Meek. “What happens now is that all professional trainers, whether they are GTA members or not, will have the chance to get a voting form over the next couple of weeks and we'll also announce details of when the actual deadline for votes is.”
Last year when Reynolds defeated Meek and Clemenson, the campaign lasted around a month and a similar timeframe is expected this time around. Reynolds was ultimately ostracised by his committee and expelled from the GTA meaning he was unable to stand this time.
